About
Greymouth Rotary is part
of district of Rotary international.
We meet 5.45 every Tuesday
at the Paroa Hotel.
Visitors welcome.

Vision Statement
Greymouth Rotary will
continue to build on it’s strengths,
it’s community focus and it’s vibrancy.
Our goals are to grow membership
of Greymouth Rotary, reduce the
average age and improve it’s
gender balance.
It will be an organisation that
people will wish to belong to.

Objectives of Rotary
  • Develop acquaintances as an
opportunity for service
  • Display high ethical standards
in business and the professions
  • Apply the ideal of service to the
community
  • The advancement of international
understanding, goodwill and peace

Lend a Hand
The Lend a Hand Foundation is a charitable trust
set up jointly by the three West Coast Rotary Clubs
and TrustPower to support local individuals,
groups and small organisations (with a charitable
purpose) working to support West Coasters or to carry
out a public service. We meet quarterly but will also
consider urgent applications on a case by case basis.

Bookarama
In July of every year, Greymouth Rotary asks the
Community to donate books to Rotary for sorting
and selling at the Bookarama Book fair.
New World Supermarkets and Coastwide Honda Car
dealers act as collection points and the bookarama
book fair is held in the car show rooms at Coastwide Honda.
Over two and a half days, thousands of books are sold
and raises up to $14,000 which is then directly put back
into local community projects. $5,000 of this goes into
the Lend a Hand foundation which directly supports
local charitable organisations, individuals (including
families and children) in projects that meet the
foundation's criteria

Batteries for Brains
Batteries for Brains is a fund raising project for the
Rotary Club of Greymouth supporting the youth of our area.
We are collecting old car and truck batteries and turning
them into opportunities for our local youth. The funds raised
will be used to send our youth on programmes that will help
them realise their full potential.
Help us help our future leaders by donating your old batteries
to this ongoing programme. Batteries can be dropped off
at R B Devlin Auto Electrical 22 Leonard St or
PB Davy Auto Electrical Ltd 75 Gresson St

To contact us write to PO Box 276, Greymouth or email

Main star Something I would like to change in our community

Lara McEvedy
Blaketown
Greymouth

20/06/16

Dear The Mayor of Greymouth.

I am writing to ask if the council would add a speed bump to the school crossing outside Blaketown School.

I believe there needs to be a speed bump put here because silly people on motorbikes and cars speed up and down the road from the airport right down to the end of Blake Street. If there was a speed bump put here they would have to slow down which will keep our community safe.

Please consider my request.

Yours Sincerely

Lara McEvedy
